Rare and exceptional collector level one of kind folk art large scale mid nineteenth century dated 1865 sculptural wood rooster weathervane showing the original red painted cockade cut from a tin can, scalloped tail detailing, iron strapping affixed to both sides, square nailed construction, with the vane resting on the original iron mounting shaft terminating in a water sawn wood section of a beam that was more than likely part of the barn, all in exceptional as found age cracked painted surface, excellent as found condition. 22.5” wide x 22” high x 1.25” thick; 28” high including iron shaft;  31.5” high top to underside of beam.
