Circa 1935 rare and exceptional hand carved scene showing a Native American man wearing a headdress shown through the lookout windows in each end of the fort, along with the entry gate, picket fence and evergreen trees with a large American flag blowing in the wind behind the fort with hickory branches forming the frame, all in untouched multi colored age cracked painted surface, untouched condition. On the reverse side of the plaque is the pencil inscription 'Indian Hand Carved at Fort Algonquin St. Ignace, Mich $3.00'  27.75" long x 11" high x 1" deep. Item 301.22
